Recently, we have produced a total of twenty contents and we have successfully secured a global fan base. Moreover, our company’s executives have a global network, aiming to distribute various contents, produce global artists, perform overseas, produce various goods, and continue to target the global market by expanding our branches overseas through a systematic localization strategy. Furthermore, we own our recording and filming studio, which enables us to produce high-quality sound sources and albums with small capital. With our internal infrastructure, we can generate huge profits through investments by continuously producing contents, musics, videos, web dramas and other activities.

Currently, a total of 20 self-produced contents have been uploaded in our official YouTube channel, and the number of subscribers have reached more than 1,200 in just three month of YouTube launch. The dance video challenge of Jessie’s ‘NUNU NANA’ currently ranks first in the number of views, which recorded more than eleven thousand views. Beside from this, all of the contents were produced by the video production team of SG Entertainment, and the trainees participated in the content planning and production. The song became a hit again in Korea as a lot of famous singers sang it on tv programs. We could successfully penetrate the popularity through our internal executive. We also got a lot of news article for the collaboration of the original producer and our artist. CEO Joon-Hae Spielmann in particular, who grew up in a highly creative, passionate and artistic family, has more than 20 years of experience in the music and entertainment industries.

Problem Overview

The Kpop industry is gaining its influence all over the world, however, in order to sustain global growth, the disadvantage of the domestic entertainment market is that many artists lose their identity due to repetitive training system and are emotionally unstable, making it difficult to sustain their future. Furthermore, although the number of Korean entertainment companies is increasing, the barriers to enter the global market is very high since large agencies are already dominating the market.

Solution Overview

In order to solve the problem of Korean entertainment companies and the competitive structure of the market, we developed a unique SG system that pursues creativity and a healthy body and mind, integrating French and Korean cultures for the first time. We aim to create a healthy and sustainable entertainment industry by consoling the public through various unique contents, where artists engage and tell stories and message they want to convey to the public. In SG Entertainment, we appropriately integrated the European system that focuses on creativity and inner beauty, and the Korean system that focuses on external beauty to lead the K-pop trend with new and attractive content that has never been created before. Since we have procured global fanbase through uploading various contents, it is easier to penetrate the global market and gain mass income. Moreover, through our international and professional Departments, we already established the necessary infrastructures in order to efficiently advertise and connect to the global market. Through this, we aim to make Korea the center of culture by successfully combining the Kpop and France creativity.

Go-to-Market Strategy and Business Model

SG Entertainment holds the capability to cover the overall value chain of music industry, starting from creation, production, publishing, and distribution of various Kpop contents. Currently, we are creating various video and music contents with our artists, distributing through YouTube channel in order to induce international fandom. We have created a total of 20 productions with our internal infrastructure, with low cost yet high quality contents. Moreover, we have our own studio for production of contents and recording of music, which makes us more cost-efficient and productive. By producing contents, musics, videos, and web drama series, we are aiming to create revenue through our own IP.   Our major goal is to expand our contents all over the world, that is why we are planning to establish our SG network in Europe, US, Latin America, and more in the future. As the plan indicates, we have currently recruited our girl group trainees and we are looking forward to debut them next year on 2021. We will also be recruiting our first boy group trainees and debut our solo artist. 2021 will be the start of the distribution of licensing activities and concerts of our company. On 2022, our first boy group and another solo artist will be debuting, with the introduction of character and game IP licensing activities in order to create mass revenue. We will be continuously debuting our second girl and boy group in order to raise our profit and increase our brand identity.

Competitive Landscape

Recently, as the Kpop content market has gained popularity worldwide, the content industry is changing and rising rapidly. In the Korean content industry, sales and exports, mainly on music, are on the rise as overseas export is becoming active. The average annual growth rate of the music market is 3.92%, which is an industry worth about 66.2 billion dollars in 2023 (Korea Creative Content Agency 2019 Overseas Content Market Analysis), and considering Kpop’s rapid growth rate, the proportion of future exports and overseas sales is expected to increase further.

Looking at the attached forecasts, massive net asset returns will occur as the global music and broadcasting business grows rapidly in the future.

 

Analyzing the Top 4 Entertainment company’s IP performance, they produce an average of 4.75 IP productions on average over 5 years. However, we are looking forward to produce a total of 164 IP productions, including MV, album, EP, single, and web series, over 2 years. Through mass production, we aim to create a massive revenue and also procure competitiveness in entertainment industry.

Besides, we are planning to collaborate with a lot of popular producers and artists in the West, which will be a strong basis for our overseas expansion. We already entered into contract with famous producers and procure a deep connection with famous concerts and channels in the West. Even though we are still a startup entertainment company, we can efficiently penetrate into the international market with our own networks and facilities.
